2013 Football Recruiting: Roderick Johnson Commits To Florida; Gators Add Offensive Lineman

Delray Beach, FL (American Heritage) offensive lineman Roderick Johnson has committed to the Florida Gators. Johnson becomes the first offensive lineman in the 2013 recruiting class, but most likely not the last.

Johnson helped American Heritage to a state championship in 2011 and will be back for his senior season to help defend the title. At 6’6″, 300 pounds, he is a force already and one that will only get stronger. With his height and size, Johnson should fit in nicely as a tackle at Florida and provide depth almost immediately.

The Gators have a need at offensive line – as they do most years – and Johnson is just the start to fill that need. Injuries and slow development have plagued Florida’s line in recent seasons and depth may be priority number one. When all is said and done, Johnson should have friends in this class.
