Will Muschamp and the Florida coaching staff have added commitment no. 16 to the mix. On Wednesday, Antonio Morrison chose the Gators over Alabama, Tennessee and a number of others.
Rivals ranks the inside linebacker as the no. 8 prospect at the position while Scout disagrees and puts him as the nation’s no. 50 OLB. Those rankings may be a little far apart for your liking, but be assured Florida got the player they wanted.
Muschamp has put together a nice trio of linebackers as part of the 2012 recruiting class and Morrison may have been the final piece. He is fast for a player his size and a solid tackler who can man any of the linebacker positions. Along with Lorenzo Phillips and Jeremi Powell, the position has a bright future.
The news may keep coming, but we’ll have to wait another day. One of the nation’s top players – D.J. Humphries – will announce his decision on Friday and Florida is among the finalists.
